Hydrogen Sulfide Awareness (H2S)
This course is a tool that may be used to train workers who work in areas with low possibility of exposure to H2S.
It describes the different exposure levels as legislated by the Alberta Government, and the symptoms of exposure. It also
talks about creation of SO2 and its exposure limits. It emphasizes the need for following site procedures, such as gas
testing and training on proper use of SCBA. This training is designed to raise the awareness and does not cover hands-on
SCBA training, gas detection training or rescue.
This course is ideally suited for those working in plant construction and maintenance. It is designed to help workers understand the dangers of hydrogen sulfide.
